Taiyo An old Japanese hybrid tree peony whose name means ‘The Sun’. It is a brilliant red - almost vermillion in some lights. Large semi double flowers show some white at the very edges. The reproductive parts of the flower are often hidden, but the pistil is red as is the sheath. The filaments are a slightly deeper shade of red at the base, becoming much lighter towards the stamens. The style beneath the sheath is white. Plant Source: Local Nursery
