A Chinese Tree peony about which there appears to be little information. The name means ‘Fairy Moon’ and it is a quite spectacular flower, the red flares setting off the red sheath. Mine is in its first year of flowering, so the flowers might become a little more double as time goes by. It has some similarity to the well known and highly regarded ‘Lydia Foote’, though that plant is more double with enormous flowers and has a white sheath Plant Source: Purely Peonies
